Reports and the actor filter

The report menu

Reports are grouped in collections, from the life cycle of a visitor to the reports about agents and bots. Every report follows the same pattern: headline cards, a trend, then detail tables. Detail reports also chart "<metric> by <dimension> over time" for the top 5 rows of their table.

What the newer reports show

ReportWhat you get
Reports snapshotUsers, events, key events and key-event rate per actor; sessions, new users, engagement, revenue and the share of sessions with an agent; users and sessions over time; top pages; first-user and session source / medium; new vs returning; key events by device; users by city and by segment.
Realtime pagesViews and active users per page in the last 30 minutes, split by actor.
Tagged campaignsCampaigns that carry your own tags (UTM parameters). Auto-tagged ad clicks and untagged traffic are left out, so you can check your tagging plan.
User acquisition cohortsNew users grouped by first channel, with the revenue they brought in their first 120 days and the average value per user.
Lead acquisitionNew, qualified, converted and disqualified leads by channel and landing page. Which events count as leads, and at which stage, is set in Admin → Key events.
Engagement overviewEngagement time, engaged sessions per user, views and events, plus user activity over time (1-, 7- and 30-day active users) and stickiness (DAU / MAU, DAU / WAU, WAU / MAU).
PromotionsPromotion views, clicks and click-through rate by promotion name.
TransactionsEvery order with its transaction ID, its revenue and who completed it (an agent or a human).
Retention overviewReturning users by cohort, retention and engagement day by day from day 0 to day 42, and the average value of a user over their first 120 days.
AudiencesEach of your saved segments with its users, new users, sessions, views per session, average duration and revenue.
Tech overviewDevice category, operating system, browser and screen resolution at a glance, per actor.

Admin (bottom of the menu) opens on Setup health. It also holds the property, tag, consent and redaction settings, key events, created events, custom definitions, calculated metrics, data filters, the Library, users, goals, imports, GDPR requests, API keys and MCP. See Admin settings and Setup health.

The bar at the top of every report

  • Date range: last 7, 28 or 90 days, or any custom range, in your site's time zone.
  • Comparison: previous period or previous year. Changes are shown next to each figure.
  • Actors: who the report is about. Click one actor to filter the report on it; click several to compare them side by side.
ActorIncludes
AllEverything, bots included (clicking it clears the other choices)
Agents + humansAction agents and humans, no indexing bots. Closest to what a classic analytics tool shows.
Action agentsAI agents and scripted browsers
HumansHuman events only, including the human parts of mixed sessions
Indexing botsSearch engine crawlers, AI crawlers, AI readers, monitoring
Mixed sessionsOnly sessions where an agent and a human took turns

The selection is kept in the page address and when you move to another report, so you can bookmark or share a comparison. Reports of the Agents & humans collection open with Action agents + Humans + Indexing bots selected.

Comparing actors

With two or more actors selected, every widget of the page shows them side by side instead of replacing one by the other:

  • Charts draw one line or bar series per actor: agents in lime, humans in orange, indexing bots in charcoal, mixed sessions in gold, "All" in pink.
  • Number cards list the value of each actor with its popsicle icon, its share of the total (for agents, humans and bots, which never overlap), and a comparison line between the first two actors, for example "Action agents = 9.3% of humans (−90.7%)". For rates (engagement rate, conversion rate) the comparison is a gap in points: "Action agents: +12.4 pts vs humans".
  • Tables get one column per actor for each metric, plus a column with the % difference between the first two actors.
  • Funnels show one bar set per actor, with units and step conversion per actor in the table below.
  • Pie charts, path explorations and retention grids are drawn once per actor, side by side.

Widgets that are about one family by design (for example Agent sessions) keep their own filter. The order of the comparison follows the order in which you picked the actors.

Reading a report

  • Cards on top give the headline metrics with their change.
  • Charts show the trend. Agents are lime, humans orange, bots charcoal, mixed sessions gold.
  • Tables can be sorted, searched and exported. Click a row to drill down.

Metrics are computed at the right level (scope): an event metric (events, clicks), a session metric (sessions, bounce rate, average duration), a page metric (views, time on page), a user metric (users, new users), or an actor-segment metric (what an agent did in a mixed session). You don't have to think about it; it matters only when you combine dimensions and metrics in the API.

Imported history

If you imported data from another tool, periods before your Eureka go-live show an "Imported" badge with the name of the source, and a vertical line marks the switch-over date. Metrics the source tool cannot provide (for example the agent split) are greyed out for those periods. See Importing history.

Agents & humans, every visit counts!
